Dual chord static bus tie
The Static Bus Tie (SBT) is used to increase UPS availability to both supply buses in dual cord dual UPS AC distribution systems when there is a UPS failure.
The i-SBT operates differently to an i-STS. Under normal conditions, the SBT circuit is open and the UPS/dual cord systems operate independently. In case of failure of the UPS system the SBT is immediately closed and the faulty UPS system is isolated, maintaining a no-break UPS supply source to the two original buses.
